SOURCE: The maps had previously been collected over four decades by William C. Wooldridge of Suffolk, Virginia. Except for map 171, all maps depicted had been the property of the Virginia Cartographical Society when this book was written. Through an agreement with the Virginia Cartographical Society, in 2017the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation acquired some 220 0f these maps, charts, atlases and documents for its collection.
